WEST's sold out conference looking at how wearable tech is impacting sports and entertainment caused quite a stir in the media both the day of and days after.
WEST returned to the city with a bang as this sold-out event took up two floors at the MaRS Discovery District Centre. The smartwatch space is expected to move the needle on the wearable space over the next five years according to a new report from IDC. IDC forecasts that worldwide wearable shipments will reach 173.4 Million by 2019 mainly propelled by what they call the "smart wearable category" which includes smartwatches which have the ability to run third-party apps.
