Deloitte Canada and We Are Wearables are pleased to present an evening dedicated to exploring wearable technology's impact on the enterprise. 

From fitness trackers in corporate wellness programs to smart glasses in the field, wearable technology is changing the way we work. According to a recent Tractica report, "More than 66 Million Wearable Devices Will Be Shipped Annually for Use in Enterprise and Industrial Environments by 2021". This event features thought leaders and entrepreneurs changing the way we work using wearable technology including speakers from Vandrico, Deloitte, Super Ventures and Cortex Design Inc. 

Due to capacity, this is an invite-only event. Tickets will be necessary to enter. 

Food and drink will be served at this event during the networking part of the agenda.

Tom Emrich - Partner at Super Ventures & Founder of We Are Wearables

Sometimes called the “man from the future” Tom Emrich is a leading voice in wearable technology committed to driving adoption and innovation in technology augmenting the human experience. He is an investor and partner at Super Ventures, the first fund and incubator dedicated to augmented reality and a community builder, founding We Are Wearables, the largest wearable tech community of its kind in the world with a reach of over 100,000 and chapters across North America. He is also co-producer of Augmented World Expo (AWE) the largest AR and VR conference now in California, Europe and Asia. Tom has been recognized as a global influencer for both wearable tech and virtual reality and has presented talks at major conferences such as TEDx, WT Conference, Wearable Technology Show, TOM*FW, and FITC and regularly appears in the media as a wearable tech expert including The New York Times, CNN, BBC, CBC, Readers Digest and FASHION magazine. John Wang - Partner, Deloitte

John has always been the kind of person that likes to build things... particularly if it’s cool new technology (yes, he’s a geek, but a geek in a blazer with a pocket square). As the leader of Deloitte’s Wearables Practice, his job is to help companies understand how to use wearables to solve meaningful business problems. With a dedicated team and external partners organizations (like Communitech, Vandrico and Cortex Design), John hopes to continue to bring new wearable ideas to market.

 Gonzalo Tudela - CEO & Founder, Vandrico

Gonzalo Tudela is CEO and Co-founder of Vandrico Solutions, an industrial software company based in Vancouver Canada. After working in finance and mining operations, Gonzalo became an early champion of the positive impact wearable technology will have on large commercial operations. His insights have been featured in publications such as The Globe and Mail, Entrepreneur Magazine and TechCrunch.

Gonzalo is a TEDx speaker who regularly presents to business leaders across the world. His expertise has been televised internationally to millions of viewers on the Globo TV network and other news sources, such as CBC. Gonzalo currently leads Vandrico in helping large global organizations use wearable technology as a way to overcome safety and operational challenges.

 Joel Yatscoff - Studio Lead, Cortex Design Inc.

Joel Yatscoff is a innovative designer whose passion is developing novel ideas and technology into compelling market-ready products.   He is the studio lead at Cortex Design, a Toronto-based, boutique design consultancy that specializes in designing the experiences of complex and technology-driven projects.   Most notably, Joel has been the lead designer on Canada's entry into the Qualcomm Tricorder X-Prize for Cortex's client, Cloud DX.  His work  has been awarded nationally and internationally, been sold at the Moma Design Store, featured on Gizmodo, and he has multiple design and utility patents issued to his name.  When Joel isn't designing your future, he will be in a sailboat racing for bragging rights.  You can reach Joel at: joel(at)cortex-design.com.

Vinay Sugunanandan - Busines Lead, Deloitte Canada

Vinay is an innovative though leader who is optimistic about the enterprise adoption of wearable technology. As the business lead for Deloitte Wearables he is focused on product development and building a partnership ecosystem with wearable technology companies in the enterprise space to bring enterprise solutions to market.

Douglas Soltys - Editor-in-Chief, BetaKit

Douglas Soltys is the Editor-in-Chief of BetaKit. He has worked for a few failed companies and written about many more. He spends too much time on the Internet.
