Most of my friends believe that technology has begun to eat away at our humanity. They see technology as taking us further and further away from “being human". In fact I would almost go as far as to say that they see technology as being the anti-thesis of humanity, a cancer eating away at our souls a vice, something they believe is wronging our existence but yet they are unable to live without it.

I don’t agree, I cannot argue with how much of a distraction our modern technology has become. The screens around us ARE demanding a lot of our time. And for the past few decades our focus has been more on building a virtual world than it has on our real one. Our computers and smartphones are powerful life changing technologies, but our newness with technology can be likened to that of an adolescence - self absorbed and trying to find its identity.

But we are about to grow up.

We are at the beginning of a big shift, a new wave of computing. One unfettered from screens and that can co-exist with the real world around us. Wearable technology will act as a cure to the technologies before it.

Re-Connecting us to ourselves
Re-Connecting us to each other
Re-Connecting us to a higher power

And helping us to Become Human again.

In my TEDx talk, I explore my belief that wearable technology is a critical part of our human evolution and that, by closing a separation gap between us and our tech, it will help us reconnect to ourselves, each other and a higher power.
