We really had too many memorable moments this year to count but to keep with our annual tradition, I’ve made a list of the Top 10 We Are Wearable Moments to look back on in 2015. 

In my TEDx Talk I explore how wearable tech is closing the separation gap between us and our tech which allows us to reconnect with ourselves, each other and a higher power. 

Big news We Are Wearable-ers! We are headed to California to bring the wearable revolution to Silicon Valley! We Are Wearables has partnered with Augmented World Expo, the world’s largest augmented reality event, to add a wearables exhibitor and speaker track to the two-day event in June of 2016. 

It's that time of year again and this year it's going to be a Wearable Wonderland! Wearable tech is the perfect gift to put under the tree and this year I'm making it easy with my list of the top wearables to wrap up and give this year. I've made my list and I've checked it twice! Here is my picks for the holidays 2015.

WEST's sold out conference looking at how wearable tech is impacting sports and entertainment caused quite a stir in the media both the day of and days after.

Visual Talks captures the insights from our Capturing the Future event in Toronto on September 9 which looked at the evolution of the camera including wearable cameras, drones, 3D scanning and more. 

Earlier this week, We Are Wearables Ottawa (WWOTT) organizer Jen Greenberg sat down with Makerspace North's Kyle McInnes and Gesture Logic's Leonard MacEachern to talk about wearable tech and the wearable scene in Ottawa on CBC Radio.

Tom Emrich, founder of the We Are Wearables community and speaker at the upcoming Rock Stars of Wearables symposium on September 23, 2015 in Austin, Texas, presented by IEEE Computer Society, today spoke with impassioned purpose about the impact wearables technology will have on the lives of all of us.

Wearables are shiny, new and interesting. They come in all shapes and sizes and with about as many purposes for having them as there are consumers to buy them. Purpose plays a vital role in the messaging process for media relations, but often times, the product itself or the branding overshadows it. 

We Are Wearables headed to Canada's capital on June 23. Hosted in the heart of the market downtown Ottawa at Systemscope, the Ottawa tech community rallied together to demo wearable tech from two local startups and hear from some of the pioneers and thought leaders working in wearables in the city.

Augmented and virtual reality are set to explode over the next five years, with forecasts predicting over $150 billion in revenue by 2020. It will be interesting to watch the AR/VR race play out, as there are key differences between the two. Chicago co-organizer Tory Patrick recaps the AR & VR featured at the last WWCHI.

We pulled out all the stops in Toronto for Canada's first Pet Wearables event including live streaming the presentations and panels for the first time ever. Our June event in Toronto focused on a growing segment of wearable tech, pet wearables! As part of the registration process for this event, we asked our members a couple of questions to get to know how many of them had pets and what they would want a wearable for their fur-baby to do.

The connected pet was the focus of this week's regular wearable tech feature on Canada's only national morning show, Canada AM. Host Beverly Thompson brought in her two furry friends, Harley and Mya, to help wearable tech expert, Tom Emrich, show off the latest in pet wearable tech.

Recently, Jennifer Flanagan, CEO of Actua, tweeted a question: “who are your favourite moms in STEM and why?” That was an easy one to answer. For me, hands-down it's Lyssa Neel. I've had a chance to work closely with Lyssa, CEO of Linkitz, after she won our N100 Startup Competition in 2014 and secured a $100,000 early-stage investment for her new wearable technology. 

On April 9, the WWTO community was transported to a whole new reality, an augmented reality, with an event that featured the Father of Wearable Computing and the Canadian Premiere of the much anticipated AR glasses, Meta. Relive the magic in Tweets via our Storify story.

AR & VR continue to make big news and this week we saw a new report forecast that AR/VR could hit $150 billion revenue by 2020, with AR taking the lion’s share around $120 billion and VR at $30 billion.
